Hello and welcome to the Northeast region. My name is Rich Sampson and I am the Instructional Client Representative (ICR) for Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. I grew up in Southeastern Massachusetts and currently live outside of Orlando, Florida with my wife Christine and our three kids Katie, Emily, and Tyler. I earned an A.S. in Early Childhood Education from Ashworth University, a B.A in Organizational Management with a concentration in Education from Ashford University, a Masters of Education in Elementary Education from Liberty University, and am currently working toward completing a Doctorate in Business Administration. Before coming to K12 I taught 5th grade, 7th grade Math, 8th grade Science, Kindergarten, Preschool, and Pre-K. I also spent time managing several after-school and daycare programs. I spend most of my free time playing with my kids. Typically we go swimming, take bike rides, play and watch sports (we root for all the Boston teams), make up games, and whatever else is the kids want to do with their time.
As the ICR I will be your point of contact for any instructional issues or questions. Some of the things I will be able to help with are student escalations, creating timelines, and sharing of pertinent information. I am new to the position as I was promoted from my teaching position with K12, but I have a great team around me and I work closely with the Client Service Manager (CSM) and Instructional Manager (IM) which allows me to get you the answers you need quickly. I am excited to be a part of the K12 team and look forward to a great school year!

My life has been spent living in and enjoying the seasons of the great lakes region. I grew up in Wisconsin and now live in Grand Rapids, Michigan with my husband, Peter, and our children Grace, who is 11, and Marc, who is 9. We like to take advantage of what our surroundings offer us for fun. During the summer time we love the beach and to bike the trails near our home. Grace and Marc keep us on the go with their activities as well. Grace loves music and to dance. Marc keeps us busy with his soccer and baseball games. Our newest family endeavor is welcoming our puppy Lucy to our family.
My on-line experience started back with Aventa. I started working with Aventa in 2008 as a part time German teacher. I started full time in 2010 and transitioned into a lead teacher position with the World Languages Department. In February of 2012 I moved into the ICR role for MI and have now fully transitioned into my dual role as ICR and IM for Michigan. I am excited to move forward with our Michigan team – we have a fantastic group of teachers! Michigan continues to grow in numbers and I know that our MI team is ready and willing to step up and get ready for the fall 2012 launch.

I was born and raised in Fairbanks, AK, but moved to be a kama'aina in Honolulu for a decade before I met and married military officer, Tom, with whom we have our son, Hunter, our daughter, Haiden, Maine Coon kitty, Nani or Fifi for short (don't ask why), and pug, Luna. Since Tom's in the USAF, we have since moved to Signal Hill, CA, Suffolk, VA, and now Farmington, CT. (Ahh the military life.) I have a M.A. in Educational Leadership from Fielding Graduate University, a BEd in Elementary Education and a BA in Psychology, both from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. I have taught in seven states in a wide variety of subjects and grades, in public and private schools, and for the last 20 years. This is my tenth year working with K12. Not only am I a teacher, but I am also a parent with the best interest of children at heart. This year is my first in the role as an Instructional Client Representative (ICR) for the NE regional states of SC, NC, VA, WV, DC, IN, OH, and MD. Clients in these states may contact me for any instructional requests, issues, and concerns. I also create timelines for each client to share with the instructors, final exam schedules, manage state reporting information, manage student escalations, and convey client information to our instructional team such as student start/end dates and extensions. I look forward to working with you this year!
